![]() The combat concept itself is not as overwhelmingly detailed and original as HxH's Nen obviously, but the art depiction and the choreo in applying those concepts is chef's kiss imo. ![]() More than that, imagine G2 concept emerging for the first time, rubber doping physiology applied in that fabulous ground-punching pose. Sanji's first time of Diable Jambe, Zoro's Breath of All Things in choosing what to cut, Chopper's Horn Point, Snakeman have great movement concept through rubber tension pseudoscience and also explosive application in its zig-zagging art. Application of power concept in awesome combat art and gimmick. But imagine going through the same thing Oda did which is delivering weekly chapters while having that level of being consistent in delivering each chapters, Inoue and Miura didn't reach that level of being consistently dedicated. Both Vagabond and Berserk have extremely original and extremely beautiful dedicated art. Murata's art in OPM and ES21 is beautiful and amazing, but it lacks originality. But Oda draws so many things at once in various panels, thousands of characters and their special effects of powers, their body language and gimmicks, gargantuan creatures, beautiful sceneries, impossible perspective, amazing double-spread of castle or forest or ocean depth or sea waves, etc. Unique, original, high-quality, consistent art. Oda's world concept is massive and Ghibli-tier originality in fantasy. Berserk is a top contender in story concept with despair and surreal theme, it may even surpass Oda at that, but Miura didnt have that extremely huge lore to accompany that originality. Naoki Urasawa made masterpieces regarding the story, but world building? No, he didnt need to search for much imagination and inspiration. HxH made a big world but he didnt explore much. And from that concept, Oda managed to made a massive world, something that most of mangakas can't even dream of accomplishing. Oda can't look on one specific reference as an easy ground for his entire concept, he build a world from scratch, searching various references and cultures etc. Vagabond is a masterpiece in my opinion, but Inoue can solely focus on storytelling since he can always turn to the original concept for inspiration, so he didnt have the same weight of burden that Oda has. Formulating a golden concept is far from easy. One Pieceand Narutoare some of the most-popular manga series and this tribute is incredibly touching.Oda has something other great author dont have: Naruto and Luffy would definitely be friendly rivals and them sharing a meal is very fitting - especially since food is something they'd likely bond over. ![]() The series may have been in minor competition with each other for readers' attention, but the love between the series' mangaka is very apparent. He is eating Luffy's favorite food, meat on the bone. His signature shoes can be seen under the chair as well as hints of his outfit. Across from Luffy is Naruto himself, hidden by Nami. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, is eating a bowl of ramen, which appears to be from Naruto's favorite ramen stand, Ichiraku, since the bowl shares the same pattern as the ones Naruto is seen eating. In fact, this image also features the two main characters eating each other's favorite foods. This cover page is centered around food, which is a staple of both series and a love of both main characters in Naruto and One Piece. ![]()
